Police: Man hit 4 teens with van, fled scene

FOLSOM, Pa. (AP) — A man is facing charges after he allegedly plowed into a group of teens who had just left a high school musical production then fled the scene.

Ridley Township police say 52-year-old Tyrone Williams ran a red light in his van and struck four teens outside Ridley High School late Friday. Police say he was driving erratically before being pulled over in nearby Chester.

Two teens were still hospitalized as of Sunday, including one in intensive care.

Investigators say the Darby man was surprised when told the details of the crash. He told officers he thought he’d hit a construction cone.

Authorities say Williams was driving with a suspended license. He was jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail.
