Shepherd of the Valley gets recognition
According to the Family Satisfaction Survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Aging, families highly recommend Shepherd of the Valley nursing homes.
Each year, families from skilled nursing centers across the state, including Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman, Howland and Niles, are surveyed to gauge family satisfaction level with the center.
Family satisfaction is an excellent indicator of the quality of the care received as it encompasses the many aspects of the skilled nursing center experience.
Two important indicators are whether families would recommend the center and whether they like it.
In the most recent report, all three Shepherd locations scored significantly higher than the state average when families were asked if they would recommend Shepherd of the Valley to others.
Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman’s recommendation rating was 94.8 percent, Shepherd of the Valley-Howland received a 93.7 percent, and Shepherd of the Valley-Niles rating was 94.6 percent.
The Ohio Department on Aging regularly surveys families with loved ones in nursing homes. The latest Family Satisfaction Survey scores, released in December 2010, reflect the opinions of family members of nursing home residents.
