Police make 4 meth arrests

ELLWOOD CITY

Ellwood City Police closed a city block and arrested four people after discovering a meth lab during a raid on a house on Ninth Street. Their names were not being released Friday night.

Police found a hidden room in the home where two men were in the process of making meth.

Two children, ages 4 and 5, also were found living in the home.

Nearby homes were evacuated, and the street was closed for several hours because of the danger of explosion from the chemicals used in the process. Officials said the process also produces noxious fumes that are hazardous. The children were placed in the custody of Children and Youth Services and were being taken to a hospital.

Police were led to the home after a raid of another meth lab last week.
