Beef producers meeting scheduled
The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, in partnership with the OCA Allied Industry Council, is having a meeting for beef producers Thursday at Mill Creek Metroparks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road.
All cattle producers as well as others with beef-industry interest are encouraged to attend. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with a complimentary dinner.
The speaker will be Jeff McCutcheon of Ohio State University Extension Service, who will discuss the expected costs of retaining cattle and herd expansion.

ACTION plans a clergy caucus meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. next Tuesday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oakhill St., with the Rev. Ed Noga as host pastor.

City council has offered its services to two companies that might want to annex their property into the city. The city requires annexation to get city utilities.
Daniel Leverknight is leasing property for Lake Front Golf Course, 14550 South Ave., along with its restaurant and had said he plans to buy it. He could not be reached.
Keith Chamberlin, the city manager, said businessmen Earl Corey and C. Tucker Cope were considering buying about 17 acres on state Route 14. Cope said there are some buildings on the property, but they have to be annexed into the city in order get the utilities. Cope & Associates, 170 Duquesne St., is involved in building.
