SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced

AARP 4339, Austintown Chapter, will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran 1612 S. Raccoon Road. Blood pressure screenings will be available at 12:30. The Notables will sing under the direction of Sue Mayerchek. Tickets will be available for the May luncheon. Members are encouraged to take canned carrots for donation to the Rescue Mission. Refreshments will be served. Guests and new members are always welcome. A board meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 21.

Golden Pillars will meet after the 11:30 a.m. Moleven Mass Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church Assumption Social Center with Mary Novak presiding. Members are to take a table setting. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged and the diversion will be bingo and cards.

J.C. Penney Retirees will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Boardman.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Barbara Burnside will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. OBES Retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. March 16 at Friendly’s on Route 224 in Poland. All OBES retirees are welcome.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seniors will meet Wednesday following the noon Mass. John Mascardine will preside, and reports will be given by Clara Pascale and Ann Leone. Lunch will be served, and birthdays and anniversaries will be observed. There will be a 50-50 drawing, and cards and bingo will be played. Guests are welcome. Police & Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2, Chapter 10, will have its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Brandywine Clubhouse, 3390 Flo-Lor Drive, Youngstown. All retirees and DROP participants of the Ohio Police and Fire Disability and Pension Fund living in Mahoning and Columbiana counties, and their spouses or survivors, are welcome. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworker retirees, Local 1330 and 1331, will not meet in March.

St. Rose Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Amen Corner for coffee and pizza.

St. Anthony Senior Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday in DeMarinis Hall. Remember to carry your own bag lunch for noon. Coffee and dessert will be provided by Rita Criscione. UFCW Local 880 Retirees Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cafe 422, Youngstown Road in Warren, for a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon. Reservations were required. The April 12 meeting will take place at 10 a.m. at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Games will be played, and there will be a raffle.
