Seniors get a lesson in martial arts
Marital arts teacher Master Park recently visited Sterling House Senior Living House’s residents and spoke about Oriental culture and Oriental martial arts.
Park taught the residents breathing exercises, Tai-chi, relaxation and slow circulation movements from various Oriental martial arts. He demonstrated Oriental martial arts sword, forms and various martial arts moves with the residents who seemed to enjoy the program. The residents were also interested in talking about Korean and Asian culture.
Park has visited and provided programs to many senior facilities in the past 26 years since he came to the Valley from Korea. He has been doing martial arts for the past 50 years and has taught 100,000 people internationally.
In March, he will visit Mahoning County Board of Development Disability and Boardman Glenwood Middle School.
Organizations that are interested in having Park visit can call Master Park Martial Arts International Boardman or Austintown at 330-965-9000 or visit www.masterpark.com.
