Man sent to prison for trafficking Oxycontin

YOUNGSTOWN

A West Side man has been sent to prison for three years after he pleaded guilty as charged to three counts of trafficking in the painkiller Oxycontin and one count of money laundering.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court imposed the sentence Tuesday on Gregory L. Zebosky, 57, of North Osborn Avenue, who apologized in court for his actions.

Zebosky also will forfeit $67,708, a pickup truck and two motorcycles. The motorcycles and truck will go to the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force and the cash will be divided among the task force, the county prosecutor’s office and fees for Zebosky’s lawyer, John Dixon.

Zebosky served previous prison time for robbery, said Martin P. Desmond, assistant county prosecutor.

The task force will likely auction off the 2005 and 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycles, but it can make use of the 2006 Ford truck, Desmond said.

Had Zebosky received maximum consecutive sentences on all charges, he could have gone to prison for 161/2 years and been fined $35,000.

Zebosky told the judge he was laid off from his job because of the recession and sold some of the Oxycontin pills that had been prescribed for him last October and November so he could pay his bills.

IDIOTS!!!

1st-ly) Y-Town is full of narcs who get a couple hundred bucks per solid lead, while at the same time getting to buy and, uh "process" their ill gotten booty! (hneh-hneh, I said "booty") As well as folks in various stages of "arrest" who are more than happy to bust their own Mother if it means they get a few years shaved off.

2nd-ly) A wise cartoon character once said "dope will get you through times of no cash better than cash will get you through times of no dope". You should have just eaten your pills (like your Doctor TOLD YOU TO!) and said "friggy-diggy" to the bill collectors.

Or, he could have touched a little of that 67 grand in the bank (or was it under the mattress?).

Yeah, REALLY hurtin' from the recession and that lay-off...

Money laundering, let's see, how much cash qualifies for "money laundering"? A couple bucks from "three counts of trafficking"?

I usually have a lot of sympathy, but I am guessing that this was one enterprising businessman! I am guessing lots'o'controlled buys, then introductions via "friends" to the undercover officer with the nice beard and tattoos who made the actual "three buys"...

Do you or someone you know need help with OxyContin or other opiate addiction? This life-threatening medical condition can now be treated in the privacy of a certified physician's office with prescription medication called buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex). Bupe is abuse resistant and has a ceiling to its effects making accidental fatal overdoses unlikely. It also blocks other opioids for days, and is not euphoric to people tolerant to opioids. It has enough opioid effect to stop cravings and withdrawal allowing the patient and their family to make the necessary changes that will translate to sustained addiction remission.

TreatmentMatch.org is a free service from the non-profit organization naabt.org and is a confidential way to find doctors certified to treat opioid addiction in their office.
