Police: Woman set fire to home with foreclosure documents

Published: Wed, July 27, 2011 @ 10:30 a.m.

CORRY, Pa. (AP) — Police say a northwestern Pennsylvania woman tried to smother her adult son then attempted suicide after setting fire to her home with a foreclosure notice.

The Erie Times-News reports 47-year-old Eve Shreve was arraigned Tuesday on charges including attempted homicide and arson in the March 18 fire in Corry.

Police say Shreve’s husband told officers his wife had admitted setting the fire using foreclosure papers received the day before and then attempted to kill herself. Investigators say medical records support their case.

Corry Police Chief Fred Corbett says authorities also determined the two small fires were intentionally set.

Shreve was released on $5,000 bail.

This terrible tragedy. So, devastated and helpless, that she tries to kill her son. This is really sad, but foreclosure, in PA, can it be an HOA/COA/CID, board member(s), prop mgr, atty illegally, doing the foreclosure. Those are the victims most horrified by this greedy foreclosure process, that is supposed to be illegal, in PA, but happening. Many have written and begged for investigations, but who cares. Need to find out what kind of foreclosure this is and if it is legit. They usually go behind the homeowners back, after driving them through the legal process, for NOTHING, OWING NO ONE, to foreclose for fabricated fees.
This is a recent letter I wrote to the Pocono Record, PA writer, Howard Frank, as the disabled are targeted for this targeting, discrimination and foreclosure, in that locale, I believe.

Mr. Frank,
Have you looked "in your own backyard?" Americans with disabilities
"denied rights, so many others take for granted......"
In my experience and opinion, disabled populations are not allowed to
own/occupy homes in your locale (Monroe County, PA). have no rights to
justice," unless they can pay for it," and can be targeted for any and
every form of harassment, financial exploitation and crime imaginable,
created conflict, as long as it is "someone who doesn't like disabled
people, or disabled people might cost them money," and has "friends,'
in the right places and dysfunctional, criminal, evil attorneys to
carry out their dirty work and form of injustice.
Wake up Mr. Frank, look at the people, talk to Veteran;s Affairs,
disability groups and homeowner advocacy. Yes, there is so much work
to be done, so please start where YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Legitimate accounts and investigations, would be a start. No one
should be forced to endure this type of discrimination, forced
homelessness, extortion, deformation, and humiliation in America. I
guess if you keep these horrific and illegal injustices, swept under
the rug, who will be the wiser? The perpetrators of these crimes need
to be held accountable and prosecuted for exactly what they did to the
innocent, vulnerable and unsuspecting, especially the disabled, elder,
populations, and single female households, where I believe these
abusive groups exhibit the worst "hate", harassment, targeting,
farming and predatory behaviors.
C. Stephens

If the readers of this don't believe that these predatory foreclosures are happening, please google Homeowner Association Foreclosures, Homeowner association hell, Pennsylvania illegal homeowner association foreclosures, or view some of the following sites:
There are many others too.
Thank God they are all alive!

Serious situation, especially an attempt to take a life. However, it's about time we take control and by that I mean, kick government in the butt by simply just taking over and for the rest....kiss off we're taking over! Yes, the citizenry is now taking charge! What we need in America is a Revolution! It's time we take charge...the other a__holes are imbalanced, far to incapable, sucking us dry and plain out stupid in all meaningful sense!

Time to take control and get things done and get them done in an American Way!

You're right, this isn't funny at all, and you shouldn't be laughing at this. However, I am LMAO at your grammar, punctuation, and your basic English skills overall. How does someone go about putting their "sweet" into a home? I think you meant to say sweat. On another note, how do you not "blame her" at all? Thousands of people lose their homes to foreclosure but they don't try to smother their son and/or attempt suicide. Take a good look at what and how you say things next time you comment on a story. This is truly a sad situation and you're laughing at it? Come on...
