Women artists win honors as talents are judged at show
The YWCA’s 29th Annual Women Artists: A Celebration art show resulted in awards for some of the artists, including, from left: Sharon Meenachan, Jo Ann Buzulencia, Joyce Garvey, Tazim Jaffer, Salli Kowalski, Catherine Theodore and Kathleen Terlecky.
The 29th annual Women Artists: A Celebration art show, sponsored by the YWCA of Youngstown, showcased the talents of female artists and led to honors for several of them.
More than 119 artworks created by 70 women artists included paintings, drawings, sculpture, fiber, ceramic and metal works.
Serving as juror for the show was Vicky Clark, art gallery director and art historian at Clarion University in Pennsylvania.
At a patrons party July 8, the artists were presented with awards in various categories. Following were those honored:
