YOUNGSTOWN

Tickets for Kelly Pavlik’s Aug. 6 bout against Darryl Cunningham at the Covelli Centre will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Tickets are $25, $50 and $150, plus a $2 facility fee per ticket. They can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, the Chevrolet Centre box office (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.) and by calling 800-745-3000.

Pavlik (37-2, 32 KOs) will meet Cunningham (23-2, 10 KOs) in a 10-round super middleweight bout.

This marks Pavlik’s first fight in Youngstown since December, 2009 where he knocked out Miguel Espino in the fifth round at YSU to retain his middleweight title. He defeated Marco Antonio Rubio in February, 2009, at the Covelli Centre.

Cunningham, of Detroit, enters the fight riding a three-year, 16-bout winning streak.

The Aug. 6 fight will be televised live on Showtime on a special edition of ShoBox: The Next Generation, beginning at 10:30 p.m.

It is is expected to be a tune-up for a November showdown with IBF super middleweight champ Lucian Bute.

What a pathetic attempt to make this kid some money off of faithful Mahoning Vallay fans. It's obvious he still has a drinking problem and needs help.

I think it is great how people are posting negative comments. When Kelly was on top of his game, he was loved. Now because he has had some issues, the loyal Youngstown folks are ready to throw him to the wolves. Typical.

Yes and there are always a couple suckers like louie and nascar that do not understand that this clown is just a drunk and nothing more. And no, after this last episode a lot less butts will be in the seats.

Hell, you should be able to get ringside!
