The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Festival, which begins Wednesday evening and runs through Saturday night, will affect some traffic patterns.
Quarry Road at Kennedy Road will close at 5 p.m. each evening in anticipation of the 6 p.m. festival start. Washington Street will be closed from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Traffic can use U.S. Route 224 at Lowellville Road or River Road, said police Chief William Vance.
Vance said people should park 20 feet to 30 feet away from the railroad tracks.
“I will be watching parking and traffic closely around the railroad tracks,” he said.
The festival includes an appearance each evening by the Mount Carmel Society Concert Band at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and features the Baby Doll Dance at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and at 11 p.m. Friday. There will be a Zambelli fireworks display at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The festival parade begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the festival grounds. It will proceed to the church on Eastwood Street for a service, then back to the festival grounds.

Yo Vindy Staff,
Regarding the first sentence of this article,
"The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Festival, which begins Wednesday evening and runs through Saturday night, will affect some traffic patterns."
Here is a news flash for you;
THERE IS NO OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL CHURCH FESTIVAL IN LOWELLVILLE.
Only Youngstown and Niles has an Our Lady Of Mount Carmel CHURCH Festival in the immediate area.
The Lowellville festival is not a church festival, it is a club festival, giving the impression that it is affiliated with a church. This also applies to the festival that is being held by the IFH club in Girard.
