NILES — Michael J. Ellenis, 22, of Woodledge Drive, Austintown, was released after posting $15,000 bond today in Niles Municipal Court on a charge of aggravated robbery.
Ellenis was charged in the Sunday night armed robbery of Handel’s Ice Cream on U.S. Route 422. He was not asked to enter a plea.
A witness said Ellenis walked up to the window of the shop, brandished a semiautomatic gun and took a small amount of cash. There were eight to 10 customers nearby, police said.

Michael J. Ellenis will now have the freedom to go back to Handells and get ice cream as was his intent before he got confused by the heat . The heat can do terrible things to the mind . Let's wish him well on the next trip .
What robbery was he charged with in boardman?
Ytownnative, I noticed that too. No crime committed in Boardman, unless route 422 in NILES was recently annexed into Boardman. Ole carl spazz apparently hates Mahoning County. Hey carl... he will go free in Mahoning County, the crime was in Trumbull County.
What a bad man.
