Hoyt sets art camps for kids
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
The natural world is the theme for this year’s Children’s Summer Art Camp at the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, 124 E. Leasure Ave., with the title, “Earthworks: Arts Projects from Our Environment.”
The camp will include a full-day option and the addition of visiting artists and demonstrators. Children may be registered for one, two, or all three weeks for morning or all-day sessions that include lunch and an afternoon snack. Classes are arranged by age group: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

Each week will include special guests such as cartoonist Joe Wos, who will create impromptu stories. Other guests will include Ben Sota, who will build a circus show out of everyday junk in a performance called “Everything But The Kitchen Sink,” and the group called “Bash The Trash,” which will mix science, music and environmental awareness into an interactive experience.
