Pig Iron Press changes day for workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

Pig Iron Literary and Art Works Inc., 26 N. Phelps St., has changed the day for monthly work-in-process creative writing workshops from the fourth Wednesday of each month to the fourth Thursday of each month.

Meetings will be from 7 to 9 p.m., and the facilitator will be Jim Villani, founding editor and publisher of Pig Iron Press. He has taught writing at the college level since 1981 and is a professor of English at Walsh University in North Canton.

The work-in-process workshop was established in 1995, and meetings are informal and casual. Participants share a few pages of work they have accomplished during the preceding month. Their work is constructively discussed and reviewed. The class is not genre-specific, and fiction, poetry and articles may be offered for discussion.

Enrollment is open to any adult or student. There is a $3 donation for each session; the annual subscription is $25. No reservations are required.

Parking for the evening sessions is generally available on Phelps Street and free at a nearby lot. For additional information, call 330-747-6932 and ask for the workshop.
