BEREA, Ohio — Ohio Turnpike Commission members unanimously approved new labor contracts with Teamsters Local 436. The agreements cover the turnpike’s full- and
part-time toll collectors and maintenance employees.
The new three-year deal, which goes through Dec. 31, 2013, contains a wage freeze.

Sure is a tough job reading books waiting to collect a toll.
Wal Mart clerks have more work to do.
Why fault them, what do you want them to do, in between cars and trucks.
dodge2002 hasn't a clue. For what is basically a clerks position, toll collectors start at $19/hour. Part time a bit less. Many work about as hard and fast as the postal employees, snails pace. Pennsylvania's toll collectors have cost themselves their jobs demanding wages and benefits far in excess of what the job should pay. Pennsylvania technologically replaced them or will soon. Ohio's are going the same route. I read where the Ohio turnpike made a killing in 2010 and will renovate another of their restaurant sites with the largess. Another union entity that has removed all incentive to work hard and replaced it with seniority is everything.
