Winter weather advisory issued for the Mahoning Valley till 10 a.m. Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Mahoning and Trumbull counties that will remain in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Freezing rain, sleet and snow are likely today. Additional snow and sleet accumulation less than an inch. Ice accumulation less than a tenth of an inch. Highs in the lower 30s. Temperature nearly steady from 28 to 32. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Snow is likely tonight with an additional accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Much colder with lows around 14. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

The NWS forecasts improved conditions Tuesday: Cloudy in the morning, then clearing with highs in the middle 20s.
