W. Pa. man faces federal prison for sex with teen

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man faces at least 10 years in federal prison for allegedly arranging to have sex with a North Carolina girl he met on the Internet.

Federal prosecutors in Johnstown say 25-year-old Eric Dahmen helped the girl travel across state lines so they could have sex in February 2008. The girl was 15 at the time, and Dahmen was 22.

Dahmen pleaded guilty nearly two years ago to the interstate sex charge and with possessing material depicting the exploitation of a minor. Since then, Dahmen’s attorney and federal prosecutors have dickered over his potential sentence.

Dahmen’s attorney wants him to spend 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced Monday afternoon by U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson. But federal authorities have argued he deserves more than 17 years’ incarceration
