Hazimihalis wins with TKO in 2nd round

Campbell native Chris Hazimihalis remained undefeated Friday night with a second-round stoppage of Indiana southpaw William Bokhart in a lightweight bout on the undercard of the Budweiser Fight Night at Morgantown Events Center.

Hazimihalis (5-0, 5- KOs) started crisply, working shots to Bokhart’s body. He knocked him down twice in the first round, then three more times in the second. The wining shot, a straight right to the head, came midway through the second round. Bokhart took a knee as Hazimihalis went in for the attack and the referee stopped the bout.

It was the first bout for Hazimihalis since knocking out Justin Goodall on Nov. 24 in Erie, Pa. Hazimihalis is tentatively scheduled to fight on March 19 in the Pittsburgh area.

Byzantine Center event


Jake Giuriceo (9-0-1) will be the main event and Dannie Williams (15-1) the co-main feature for the upcoming Feb. 19 fight card at the Byzantine Center on Shady Run Road.

The seven-bout card by Lights Out Promotions is also co-promoted by Warner Promotions and will showcase undefeated middleweight Willie Monroe (10-0) and junior welterweight and Olympic alternate Miguel Gonzalez (13-2).

The card also includes junior middleweight Michael Moore (6-0), middleweight Damar Singleton (6-0) and light heavyweight Aaron DuFour (2-1).

Individual tickets are $50 and $25 each with a table of eight for $400.
