YOUNGSTOWN

Police are looking for the man who robbed a 23-year-old South Side man at gunpoint as he left a bank near Midlothian Boulevard.

According to police reports, the victim walked away from the Home Savings and Loan near Midlothian just before 2 p.m. Thursday and was walking along Midlothian when he was approached by a black man with hazel eyes and long braided hair.

The victim told police the man said “I saw where you came from,” and demanded his belongings. The victim said the man tried to pat him down but he pushed the man away. The man reportedly then showed the victim a handgun and threatened him.

The thief took the victim’s wallet, cell phone and a bank envelope containing $2,100, but threw the wallet and cell phone down after getting the envelope.

I hate to blame the victim but, dude: what are you doin' walkin' the street with $2100 in your pocket, just after you've been to an ATM? Isn't that asking for trouble? Get a checking account, or a credit card or a debit account!
