CLEVELAND

Police say a homeowner shot and wounded two teens who broke into his home and tried to steal items.

The teens were found outside the house Sunday with gunshot wounds to their legs. They have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Plain Dealer reports the homeowner got his handgun out when his burglar alarm started going off.

An investigation is continuing.

The homeowner will likely be sued for protecting his home against these thugs, his guns will be confiscated and the thugs will have to seek counselling for the trauma they suffered.

Ohio's new "Castle Law" is designed to protect the homwowner in cases such as this. The test will be in the courts as to how effective it really will be. Judges and public opinion have an impact on rules and laws. Recent violence in our cities does sway public opinion.

Now, if this homeowner can get by another month without his house being targeted by a drive-by shooting, all will be good.

THE HOME OWnER HAS TAKEN A COUPLE MORE HOODRATS ON THE STREETS OF CLEVELAND. BRAVO TO THE HOMEOWNER FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR HOME.

I only wish more homeowners would do the same. Maybe then these Hoodrats would think twice before breaking in.

A warning would have sufficed. There was no need to gun these kids down.

Guns are not used for warning....guns serve only one purpose, and I have to surmise the homeowner felt his life was in danger and therefore, resorted to deadly force.

If you want to limit your exposure to lawsuit's you need to go for the "headshot", with the headshot these two punks can't come back at you for retribution, or find some lowlife lawyer that will drag you into a court room.

Fred these weren't kids , but hoodrats who feel they can do whatever. But they lost. My father's favorite saying was "DEAD MEN TELL NO LIES." So if hoodrats try to break into my house , I'll be aiming to end their lives, that's the only warnig they will get

Big thumbs up to the homeowner defending property. It use to be the homeowner would be prosecuted for defending his property but the law has been changed for the better. The vandals will get some jail time while they healing and maybe learn a valuable lesson, stay out of where you don't belong.
