Since March of this year, I have been a prisoner inside of my own home on Charles Street in Struthers. My neighbors possess two — maybe more — large, fast and aggressive dogs. They are constantly barking, unleashed and uncontrollable.
These animals are loose almost every day. They attempt to attack me and my family. They are constantly running aggressively at me onto my property and onto my front porch. I expect to be able to go into my yard and outside of my home, on my property without being attacked by large unleashed dogs at all times. I have to look out of my windows and around my house and my yard to make sure that it is safe to go outside every day of my life. I have been contacting the Struthers police department about this matter; all I am asking for is to be safe on my own property, so my family, my children and my grandchildren can come and go and enjoy my own property like normal people usually do.
Thank God one of my grandchildren or one of my girlfriend’s grandchildren was not outside when I told my neighbor her dog was loose and attempted to attack me on my front porch. She threatened to let him out right then and used an obscene expression to say he would mess me up.
The Struthers police were contacted and said they will make a report. This has been occurring for nine long, sad months.

Call the Dog Warden & your local ward councilman. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Complain to everyone in city government until this is resolved & buy some pepper spray. One good shot of that will send the dog back off your porch.
You can also buy a nice taser, if you don't want to spend the money on one, throw ammonia water at them, this will repel them
I would like to post something on here about this matter. I am Frankie York's sister and she has two beautiful,well mannered,sweet dogs... It does help to hear both sides of the story. This gentlemen who lives next door does not like my sister or her boyfriend of 4 years. They just moved in this house but she has been a resident of Struthers her entire life. She also has a 3 year old daughter and the dogs are very good with her. My sister would never want to keep dogs that bit or were aggressive... As far as this guys kids & grandkids coming to his house,they have restraining orders on him . So no one ever comes to his house and his girlfriend is just as deranged as he is. All I'm asking is before everyone judges,know both sides,Come to my sisters house and see her pets, they are family ...this guy is just an attention seeker who has nothing better to do with his time.And yes, he has called the Struther's Police numerous times about this matter. They do nothing because there is nothing to do. My sisters dogs are licensed,UTD on all their shots,she is a great dog owner,keeps her dogs tied up when they go outside to use the restroom. I know this for a fact that her dogs are NEVER loose,Why is this guy writing to the Vindicator about this? We have no idea, if anyone of you want to come visit these dogs,just write me a message on here and I'll set it up so you can see this is a waste of everyone's time. Their names are Nakita & Bare, Both adopted mutt dogs who need love too . Thank you for reading this. Brandy Colbert

Really?? Shoot the dogs. And here I thought you have made a lot of posts lately about the bible. I don't see that kind of response to a problem in the bible. The bible says LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, not shoot them and their pets. Maybe your attiitude reflects on y-town too much.. Shoot first ask questions later.
The writer is correct these dogs are always loose in that neighborhood. Its ashame that people do not keep their pets under control. It reminds me of when you go visit someone and the dogs jump all over you and the pet owner says they never do that. If you have animals they should be kept on a lease at all times when they are outside. Even a true pet lover knows this!
Also, I don't like the comment about shooting the dogs or harming them that is the mentality that those pet owners have and we don't want others to feel that way
These pet owners should be considerate of others even if they don't like someone and not call names. These pet owners also leave their little girl outside all the time I've seen her and she looks so lost!
The person who printed the info about the families made them sound like Ozzie and Harriett that they are not! Believe me they are not
