Court restrains former officers of Old Holy Trinity Serbian church

Published: Fri, December 23, 2011 @ 11:26 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

A magistrate has issued a temporary restraining order forbidding the previous officers and directors of the Old Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 420 N. Raccoon Road, from interfering with the church’s new elected directors and officers or with its pastor, the Rev. Dragan Goronjic.

The order was issued Thursday by Magistrate Daniel P. Dascenzo of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court at the request of the church, which elected new officers and directors Dec. 4.

The former officers and directors must return church property, including bank accounts, keys, passwords, safe combinations and other church books and records; and PNC Bank and Home Savings and Loan must give the new officers and directors access to the church’s accounts, the order says.

The magistrate will conduct a preliminary injunction hearing on the matter at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

Religion is indeed a business.

Jesus saves not souls, but pennies, nickels, and dimes.

In this case, apparently jesus is the judge, jury, and executioner and wants the combination to his money safe back.
