Police were kept busy over the weekend investigating a robbery, an assault, shootings and a home invasion.

Police are looking for three armed, masked men who stormed a house in the 1700 block of South Heights on Sunday evening demanding money.

A 69-year-old resident of the home told police he was upstairs when he heard a noise on the lower level. The man assumed it was a family member coming home, but was quickly surprised to see the three masked men standing over him.

One of the men held a gun on the homeowner while the other two men searched his home for valuables. The thieves ran off with video games, televisions and other electronics.

Police found an iPad taken from the house in a Nissan vehicle that had been stolen from a Powersway address earlier in the evening.

A 24-year-old Warren man, wearing an electronic- monitoring device, told police he was walking Saturday evening in the area of Cottage Grove and Brooklyn Avenue on the South Side when he saw someone come from behind a house and heard gunshots. The man realized he had been shot in the thigh.

The shooting victim was dropped off at St. Elizabeth Health Center by an unidentified person who did not stay and talk to police. The victim was listed in stable condition.

A Newbern Street home-owner told police his South Side home was hit multiple times by gunfire Friday evening. He said he heard what sounded like someone knocking on the front door, but did not go to the door until later when he discovered the bullet holes.

Police determined the house had been hit seven times by gunfire.

Police are looking for clues to solve two robberies Friday night on the South Side.

A 30-year-old Brentwood Avenue man told police he left his home at about 11 p.m. Friday to walk to a corner store for cigarettes, but was assaulted and robbed before he could make it back home.

The man told police he was walking along Glenwood Avenue when he was struck in the head and fell unconscious. He said he awoke minutes later to find his wallet missing from his pocket, along with the cigarettes he had just purchased.

A 51-year-old Euclid man told police that jewelry was snatched from him as he walked into a gas station in the 2500 block of Market Street on Friday night.

The man told police he was walking to the door of the business when he started a conversation with another man. He said the man grabbed two gold chains from his neck, then produced a gun when he tried to follow the man to his car.

Gas-station employees said the victim was trying to sell the jewelry at the time of the robbery.
