Big bucks spent on SB5 repeal effort

Published: Fri, December 16, 2011 @ 5:38 p.m.

COLUMBUS — The two sides of the heated Senate Bill 5 campaign spent a combined $40 million-plus convincing on Issue 2 last month.

We Are Ohio, the union-backed group and main opponent of the statewide issue, spent about three times as much Building a Better Ohio, the main Issue 2 proponent group.

According to post-election campaign finance reports filed with the secretary of state’s office Friday, We Are Ohio added cash contributions of about $5.8 million and in-kind contributions of nearly that much during the reporting period.

Yes the Union protects people like Bob Toth, Engineer's Assistant for the City of Hubbard. He is not a Engineer and has cost the City tons of money. Unions allow incompetence.

Typical Vindy - We Are Ohio isn't/wasn't the only group funding the anti-public employee side. Remember Building A Better Ohio? They were the other large group, but we need to recall that the Kasich Kids also refused to disclose who gave how much to their side. The law requires disclosure, but since they were the ones enforcing the laws, they chose not to enforce them against their sycophants and big donors.

Once again, way to be objective and impartial, Vindy.
