State Rep. Hagan calls for hearings on fracking

Published: Thu, December 1, 2011 @ 6:20 p.m.

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Robert F. Hagan of Youngstown, D-60th, penned an open letter to Ohio House Speaker William Batchelder asking for hearings about fracking.

Fracking, the process in which water, chemicals and sand are blasted into rocks thousands of feet below the ground to unlock natural gas and oil, has come under fire because of its potential environmental concerns.

Hagan, who earlier this week told The Vindicator he wanted a moratorium on all drilling — including injection wells — wants house leaders to consider “a cautious and thoughtful approach for the extraction of these natural resources.”

Bob "THE BOPPED" is still recovering from the trauma of getting bopped to the chops at the Lemon Grove . Perhaps he could get us all vouchers to hang out at the Lemon Grove when the jobs are all gone from lack of gas and oil ?

He just LOVES getting his name in the paper doesn't he?

Deep down, this guy is dead set against fracking and all the jobs to come with it. But knowing him, he'll take partial credit for V&M.

Buckwheat Bob couldn't be a bigger clown even if he put on a red ball nose and large floppy shoes. He absolutely turns my stomach.

a friend told me ,hagan is soon term limited out and either needs a new job (representing some eco group as a lobbyist, etc ) or he wants a handout to be quiet.

Comrade Bob. Over $800,000 in campaign contributions (mostly from unions) in 30 years of raping the taxpayer pretending to be their loyal servant in Columbus. He takes this money and buys lunches, dinners, flowers, has his car tires rotated and on and on and on.

A true member of the leftist & elitist one party rule of this area.

Hopefully fracking will be such a success it will render the elites like Hagan useless.

"Hagan, who earlier this week told The Vindicator he wanted a moratorium on all drilling..."

Imagine that!! Hagan wants everyone to believe that fracking needs to end immediately. Well, he obviously can't take the time to gather information from his heroes in DC. Lisa Jackson, BHO's EPA Administrator, is not aware of any proven case where fracking has polluted water.

Bye Bye Bob.
ps. I loved it when he took an asswhipping at the Lemon Grove. Then the big phony goes to court to hug his attacker & drop the charges; with cameras rolling.

The potential for natural gas exploration is the first big thing to happen to this area in 40 years and Bob Hagan wants to stop it. Hagan, who has milked the taxpayers for decades as he goes from one government job to the next, wants to deny his constituents the ability to get good paying jobs. Apparently, he wants us all to be on welfare. Why people in this area continue to vote for this guy is beyond me. How can union people vote for him when he is anti jobs?

Only one of you republicans (sue) wrote a post that did not betray an inner psychopathy. Now get back to work, little job creators.

I am waiting for our leader Bob Hagan to get us vouchers so we can hang out at the Lemon Grove and be properly programmed . . .. This bit about just hanging out seems very catchy . . ..

> "As America searches for cleaner, cheaper sources of energy, a new study by Common Cause shows that the natural gas industry has spent $750 million to convince Congress that a controversial new drilling technique known as "fracking" should be exempt by the Safe Drinking Water Act. This exemption was originally created by Dick Cheney in 2005 and persists despite growing evidence about the extent to which fracking can pollute our water supply.
>
> As covered by MSNBC as part of its Green Week, fracking has the potential to pollute not just the communities where fracking is occurring, but major rivers which supply water to millions of people.

> We have a terrific line-up of speakers, including activists and legislative leaders from three states where fracking poses some of the greatest potential risks to the environment and human health.
>
> Joining us from Pennsylvania will be Josh Fox, director of the Oscar-nominated film "GasLand" and former State Rep. Dave Levdansky.
>
> From New York, where activists are fighting to keep a fracking ban in place, we will hear from Helen Slottje, an attorney with the Community Environmental Defense Council, and Susan Lerner, executive director of Common Cause New York.
>
> And from Ohio, which has some of the weakest drilling regulations in the country, we will hear from State Rep. Denise Driehaus, sponsor of a bill that would establish a fracking moratorium in Ohio.

> All of these panelists not only have important information to share, but they also want to hear from you. Jessiedavid took five attempts at writing a sentence. Only the last one was successful. Even yet, the sentence was started with the wrong pronoun.

Back to work, little job creators

"We have a terrific line-up of speakers, including activists and legislative leaders from three states where fracking poses some of the greatest potential risks to the environment and human health." What union(s) sponsored them? I wonder if they addressed the transportation industry.
