YOUNGSTOWN — The union representing the faculty at Youngstown State University has filed an unfair labor practice charge against the university.
The complaint, filed Tuesday, charges that YSU engaged in “bad faith and regressive bargaining" with the union, submitting new proposals to a fact-finder on items upon which the parties had reached tentative agreement.
It also says that the university released a fact-finder’s report to the public contrary to negotiation ground rules.
The university trustees University Affairs Committee has scheduled a meeting for 5 p.m. today in the president’s conference room in Tod Hall.

And the Linkon-Russo Debacle continues....
Stay tuned for more antics.....
If anything was grossly unfair in this sordid affair it was the illegal delay of student financial aid and the repeated lies about being ordered by the US Dept. of Education to delay them.
I agree, Attis - the students should have filed an unfair labor practice charge on both sides.
Who withheld money to the students? the Union? or the University? Fine YSU heavily for the gross misconduct to the community they service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You union-haters are all a bunch of babies who can't admit the administration is the bad guy here. I notice you never do respond to the actual charges - you can't. The university violated the agreed-upon rules to not release information, such as the fact-finger's report. They did it. The university violated the rules governing the mediation process - once items are agreed to, they're off the table. They only make themselves look like the incompetent unethical clowns they are when they pull things of this nature.
I can't wait for the Vindy's spin on all this.
Its ok NoBS, most of these "union-haters" are just hiding behind a screenname. Its the modern day liquid courage. They will type what they want no matter how dumb they sound.
@srst: I hope it's not a case of "how dumb they sound" when I point out you meant "It's the modern" and not "Its the modern." Contractions can be tricky, I agree -- that's why they are taught before students reach high school. From your other posts, seems you're an employee of Austintown Schools? Walk the halls of the schools you say? Ah, yes: that would explain why you persistently write "vote yes for the levy!" when one is merely mentioned in the press, but yet to be acted upon by the board. Thus, you argue to vote FOR levies before a levy is even offered. Oh, perhaps that sounds dumb....
I guess I have to do what I have to do to support the schools. I'm a homeowner and it's my prerogative to vote yes for levies.
