YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating an early morning shooting on the city’s East Side.
Police were sent to the area around the Victory Housing Development at about 9:20 a.m. for reports of a man shot in the hand. The victim had been taken to the hospital in a private car immediately after the shooting.
Police had the name and description of a suspect and were combing the East Side area in search of the shooter.

Youngstown police are looking for a person of interest in connection to a shooting on the city's East Side.
Police suspect Chuckie Moore shot Juan Tufino in the hand on Magnolia Avenue while in his SUV Monday morning. Tufino then drove away, but stopped his vehicle nearby at the intersection of Stewart and Bennington avenues.
Police said a woman picked Tufino up at the intersection in another vehicle and took him to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
The shooting is still under investigation.

10:25 a.m. - Juan A. Tufino, 19, 551 Fithian Ave., Youngstown, was arrested at Boardman Court after turning himself in on warrants of theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
