Dick’s to have new location in Boardman

Published: Sun, August 21, 2011 @ 5:33 p.m.

BOARDMAN

A $1.7 million addition to a shopping plaza will be the new home of Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The store will be located at the former site of England Custom Furniture, 550 Boardman-Poland Road. The plaza is owned by V&V 224 Limited, of Youngstown, and the commercial project will add 26,250 square feet to the building, according to records in the township zoning office.

V&V 224 Limited has retained B&B Contractors.

A Dick’s Sporting Goods store already is open at 1280 Doral Drive off South Avenue. A representative in the Dick’s Sporting Goods corporate office would say only that information about new stores generally isn’t released until a week or a few days before grand opening.

It is not help if you move to an empty store and leave other one empty .
We need new companies to move in not just swap stores . I do know but every time I go into Dick's at seems empty . Maybe I just go in at the wrong times

Dick's seems empty because they are overpriced. You can get any and all sporting goods online, much cheaper, and with free shipping you just have to look around. Dick's is good for window shopping but once you find what you need order online.

The presence of Wal-Mart right next door does not help the situation at all.

Dick's moves out and Walmart...most likely... will expand!

Very true, I bet Walmart takes it over and turns it into a full blown Super Walmart with grocery store, as opposed to the few aisles of food they have now.

I think that would be the plan - right now the other Super WalMarts are taking business away from Boardman
