Illegal immigrants found in Beaver Township

Published: Sat, August 6, 2011 @ 10:00 p.m.

NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township Police found 15 illegal immigrants at a Market Street gas station today, traveling from Indiana to Delaware.

The immigrants were headed to work in a watermelon patch in Delaware, police were told.

About 6:30 p.m., police got a call from a truck driver at the Pilot station on Market Street, complaining that a bus and two vehicles traveling with it were parked illegally.

The caller made a comment about the bus’s occupants being illegal, police said.

When they arrived, police found the immigrants and the bus driver and contacted agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Those agents determined the passengers were in the country illegally.

That's why you can buy a watermelon for $3.50 at any grocery store. Clamp down on so-called illegals and watch produce and meat prices skyrocket.

Hey block50,

How much do we pay when the Illegals get hurt picking those watermelons, and have to go to the Hospital for treatment? They sure don't have hospitalization. How much do we pay when the Illegals get pregnant and have babies? They sure don't have hospitalization for that either. Then the babies are eligible for SS, WIC, more free medical care, etc. etc. They get all kinds of entitlements which We have to pay for with higher taxes and reduced SS benefits. How much does that $3.50 watermelon really cost?

I agree with Pyroc. I lived in the South and that is how it is. You will pay for the watermelon in taxes for government programs that the working poor American citizens cant even take part in. Then you take away jobs from American citizens who desperately need them, though we are such a spoiled nation you probably couldnt find too many Americans who would do many of the jobs that the illegals do.

Nobody, but nobody, except these desperate people will do this grunt work. The lazy fat white trash in the trailer parks are the ones sucking up the unearned benefits. And they're allowed to vote! They do nothing and never will. You people who complain about people who are willing to work are suckers who buy into the right wing tripe. Maybe one of you could ride a van to Delaware and hoist a few of those melons for 12/hr a day at crap wages! I thought so.

These comments would be hilarious, if so many Native Americans hadn't given up their lands, families, and lives so all of us could immigrate here. Anyone of us who isn't of 100% Native American descent got here by illegal (and highly immoral) means.

As for the tax dollars spent on care, we spend far more tax dollars in corporate wage subsidies for welfare cases, and as soon as those subsidies run out, corporations like Walmart terminate the employee and hire another JFS case and send the former employee right back to JFS and our tax dollars.

Follow the Reagan model and make illegal immigrants full fledged taxpaying citizens. And farm subsidies are the same as thing as bank & auto industry bailouts -socialism. End it all. If you can't make it in a free market, then go into a different area of business.

No one should be in this country illegally and they definitely shouldn't be working here illegally. The best solution to fix this problem is to fine the people that hire them. When the word gets out that you will be fined or lose your business licence for a period of time business will stop hiring them. If they can't get a job here they will stop coming here.

I have said it before we have taken away the poor reason to work for a living and replaced them with illegals

Do I believe we need illegals to pick our food? No. Well, maybe if you shop at Walmart or similar un-American sweat shop loving types of places.

Is picking food terribly hard work? Some of it is, but big deal. It's not like these illegals are climbing into a tiny hole in the ground to chisel coal or other valuables out of the ground. You'd think mining with it often alleged corruption would be an alien magnet, but it isn't.

No instead we find them picking fruit and working in slaughterhouses. Two industries with obvious ties to rural America disproportionately.

What I am concerned with is who are these folks hiring illegals in mass? What are their political affiliations? How and where do they advertise to find these workers?

I want answers so we can shut down these businesses, unfund the political part that enables this sort of stuff and take away advertising money and clout from publications promoting the jobs.

For every illegal there has to be 10 US citizens that know the situation and are aiding and abetting him/her in some form. Many of those 10 others in the know are also profiting directly from the illegal alien.

It's time we deal with our porous border with Mexico. Illegals compete with Americans for jobs, they drive down income, they import too many drugs, and bring with many criminal backgrounds and associated problems (health care and anchor baby citizenship).

If they want to work here, get a legal work visa.

To all the bleeding hearts and Native American example sharers, what happens f you are illegally in Mexico?

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population States…
"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally."

Someone illegally re-entering Mexico a second time can be imprisoned for up to 10 years.
