Police say 2 children shot in car in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 10-year-old boy was shot in the head and his sister grazed by a bullet in a parked car near a Dayton intersection.

Dayton police say 10-year-old Quayshon Hill and 7-year-old Tayjanae Hill of West Carrollton were shot Thursday night while in the car with their 2-year-old sister and mother Schaunte Hill.

A spokeswoman at Children’s Medical Center of Dayton said the boy remained in critical condition today.

The Dayton Daily News reports that police Chief Richard Biehl said the boy’s sister did not appear seriously injured. The mother and the youngest child were not injured.

Police say at least a dozen shots were fired from an alley and many struck the car.

Biehl said it was not clear if anyone in the car was intentionally targeted.
