BOARDMAN — Two brothers were arrested by Boardman police Tuesday night on aggravated robbery charges for a Sept. 15 incident involving a local real estate agent.
Paul Brooks, 27, of Youngstown, and Robert Brooks, 25, of Youngstown, are accused of robbing a female Realtor at gunpoint when she showed them an apartment at 4020 Hillman Way. A warrant for their arrest was signed Tuesday.
Robert Brooks was interviewed and admitted being involved in the Boardman robbery, police said.
Youngstown police are also investigating another crime against a real estate agent that they say is connected to the Boardman case.
Vivian Martin, 67, was found in a burning home at 3660 Nelson Ave. at 2:40 p.m. Monday. Her body was identified Tuesday by the Mahoning County Coroner’s office and police are treating the death as a homicide.
Youngstown police said the two cases are related. The Brooks brothers also were questioned by Youngstown police, and Robert was questioned by Brookfield Police, which is where Boardman police arrested him.
The Portage County sheriff also is investigating the murder of Andrew Vonstein, 51, a well-known real-estate agent in Ravenna whose body was found in a vacant building Tuesday morning.
Youngstown police say there are similarities between the Portage County and Youngstown cases, but they do not believe they are connected.

Yea, only happens in Youngstown, huh? You must have found fantasy land. Get real.
Well on to the story, what useless animals that should be put down. And I'm sure people will come on here and say "how great they are" or "they were good guys" and on and on. Put these trash where they belong.
My condolences goes out to the family and friends of Vivian Martin who had to die so needlessly.

Canton is reporting today that so far in 2010 there have been no murders in the City of Canton for the first nine months. What are they doing sixty miles away that we can't mimic in Youngstown?

Because of there Leaders, Police Chief and the community plus the CIRV program.
"He and McKimm said the group wants to keep alive its message that not only is violence unwelcome in Canton, the community is dedicated to preventing it."

As someone who grew up in the Canton area, my opinion is that the people in the Canton area haven't given up on--and turned their back on--the city like so many in the Youngstown area have.
