Youngstown police investigating rapes

Published: Mon, September 13, 2010 @ 4:46 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — City police are investigating two separate rapes reported late last week.

A 25-year-old Wirt Street woman told police she went outside in her night clothes to put her car in the garage at about 10 p.m. Friday. She said a man attacked her from behind, threw her to the ground and raped her as she was getting out of the car.

The woman did not provide a description of the man. She told police it was too dark to see him, but he had “a terribly bad odor.” She was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment.

A 32-year-old East Side woman told police she was knocked unconscious and assaulted by a man with whom she is familiar.

The woman told police she was in the downtown area at 5:30 p.m. Friday when a man hit her from behind with his hand and pulled her into a vacant dirty building near 20 Federal Place.

The woman said the man threatened her, then knocked her unconscious. She said she awoke sometime later lying nude on the building floor.

The woman also was taken to St. Elizabeth for treatment.

The common consensus within the subculture is that their dating habits are not criminal . The judgment of mainstream society is very prejudicial to their way of life . They feel that more tolerance should be extended to them .

Youngstown has been a scary place for many years. Especially to the women who live, visit or shop. Beware there is a violent criminal lurking.

During the days gone by they wouldn't go after Bennie Adams because he was harmless and they didn't have enough evidence . DNA evidence proved different years later .

D-N-A samples taken from Adams, 50 years old on the day he was arrested, tested positive as a match to the DNA found on Gina’s body and clothing.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say that there may be four or five places in the US that are safer than downtown Youngstown, maybe more.

Give me a break!!!

And how long will this scumbag sit on death row before justice is served if ever.

I would gladly gut shoot him with my own 12 gauge so it doesn't cost the state anything. Do you think that is a blood thirsty attitude? Guess what, there are plenty of others out here that would do the same.

Yes, I am a member of the NRA!!!

How can you measure which city is safer? Most crimes such as rape are left unreported to authorities.

Therefore, no reliable statistics exist to determine an accurate count to be used in comparison of relative safety among cities.

Are you considering moving if a "safer" city could be found Lifes2Short?
