2 families lose homes in Mathews Road fire

A fire left two families without an apartment Friday morning.

Flames shot out of an apartment complex at 463 and

465 Mathews Road around 1:30 a.m.

Boardman and Poland township fire departments spent a couple of hours on the scene, where no one was injured.

The cause is still under investigation, but there are no obvious signs of arson, and it appears to be accidental, firefighters said.

Damage is estimated at $50,000 to $60,000, according to initial fire reports.
