Feds sue Arizona sheriff in civil rights probe
TweetPHOENIX (AP) — The U.S. Justice Department has sued an Arizona sheriff known for his immigration patrols for failing to hand over records in a civil rights investigation.
The lawsuit filed Thursday says Sheriff Joe Arpaio has not cooperated with the department’s probe of alleged discrimination by his office. The Justice Department gave Arpaio until Aug. 17 to hand over documents it first asked for 15 months ago.
It’s the latest action against Arizona by the federal government, which earlier sued to stop the state’s strict new immigration law that requires police officers to question people about their immigration status.
Arpaio believes the inquiry is focused on his immigration sweeps, patrols where deputies flood an area of a city — in some cases heavily Latino areas — to seek out traffic violators and arrest other offenders.

That's right, sue those who are trying to protect the citizens by those who refuse to do their job. You go Joe, a real American hero.
Sheriff Joe knew this was coming. We need more people with guts, like the sheriff and governor of Arizona, to stand up to the feds. Too bad we don't have some of them in Ohio.

Just like they had to do with Traficant, the Feds have to come in and replace a fascist because the locals are smart enough to do it on their own.
Just like the average person of his age and race here in the valley, he got to where he is by bullying everyone around him. He has no education, and he gets a perverse joy out of humiliating others (not that I support the convicts, but it shows what kind of a man he is).
Is it a coincidence that so many elderly people from the Northeast and Great Lakes live down in Arizona now?

Birdbrain & 300 you two are idiots. This guy has the most efficient jail being ran that that prodices inmate built products and actually gives back to the community where it is. His recidivism rate is among the lowest and he is a true american standing up for his beliefs to not stand down to people like you and the federal government who wants to put a muzzle on anyone who runs things their way. He is also not just sitting by while the illegals come in and live off our system. He is telling his offices to wait for it, wait for it, TO DO THEIR JOB! When tehy come across someone inquire about their citizenship status. IF THEYRE ILLEGALLY HERE then arrest tehm for the CRIME they are committing. You know, being here illegal is a crime. YOU GO JOE!
And, before anyone says "be specific", here's his history of corruption; and it looks an awful lot like Traficant's career, minus the college degrees. If anything, Traficant was less corrupt than this guy.
1. He becomes a cop in the 1950s in Las Vegas. Everyone knows who ran Vegas at that time.
2. He sought to have investigations of all of his political rivals.
3. He turns to the media, who lap him up due to his outrageous behavior, to get his face on the TV as much as possible. Not to mention his complete lack of class when on camera.
4. He's embezzled money from the public funds; but, due to his political clout has been able to stifle any investigations.
5. Just like Traficant, he picks fights with groups, but then plays the victim when he's confronted by them.

I'd suggest you learn the tenets of Fascism, then ask yourself how many of those does Arpiao (and Traficant) display.
I know what you're going to say, "Obama's anti-capitalist", which is totally incorrect. Christ, he couldn't even get the government to take over any part of the health-care industry (that wasn't already under government auspices). He never actually nationalized GM (regardless of what the uninformed insist).
But, if Obama were to become fascist or anarchist, then yes, I'd support his removal.
Okay 300 you made 5 claims against sheriff Joe. Now back each one up with verifiable data from independent sources and show how it applies to Sheriff Joe. If you can not do that, then your post is nothing but BS!

Redvert, wikipedia him. You've got 63 sources listed there. Follow those links. Wikipedia has its faults, but it's an easy spot for finding sources.
I know you're still a student, but his reputation goes back nearly 20 years. Would I need a link that verified that Traficant took money from the mob while running for sheriff, and then had a hand in the guy's subsequent disappearance?
He's just like Traficant, with a few nuanced differences.
I just don't like these products of European peasants who then try to pretend they're all-Americans. Traficant was/is a fascist, and so too is Arpaio.
Sheriff Joe should start sending bills to Uncle Sam for doing his work.
