Staff report

Brian O’Halloran, who starred in the films “Clerks” and “Clerks 2” and also appeared in other Kevin Smith films, will be the guest of honor at the Halloween Horror Expo at Eastwood Expo Center on Saturday and Sunday.

O’Halloran and other celebrity guests — many from George Romero’s zombie films — will sign autographs, pose for pictures and speak with attendees at special sessions.

Reno Ministrelli of the Discovery Channel show “The Colony” also will appear. Both O’Halloran and Ministrelli will appear both days and will take the stage Saturday.

Ken Foree, star of Romero’s “Dawn Of The Dead,” will appear Sunday. Foree also had roles in Rob Zombie’s “The Devil’s Rejects” and “Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.”

George Kosana, who played Sheriff McClelland in Romero’s classic 1968 film “Night Of The Living Dead,” also will appear Sunday.

Other guests include Sharon Ceccatti-Hill of “Dawn of the Dead” and “Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth”; and Mark Tierno of “Day Of The Dead.”

Playboy model Lisa Neeld, who starred in the locally made campy horror movie “The Girl,” will appear both days. “The Girl” will have a pre-release screening at 4 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Cedar-Lee Theater in Cleveland Heights.

Tickets will be sold at the Expo.

“The Girl” was directed by Travis Bowen of Howland and written by Joe Mohn of Girard, who also sponsor the Expo.

J.R. Bookwalter, who played a zombie in Romero’s “Day Of The Dead” and then directed the Sam Raimi executive- produced movie “The Dead Next Door,” also will appear.

Bookwalter has become one of the most well-known B-horror film directors and producers.

Sal Lizard will perform as the hilarious Abner Zombie on Saturday, and also will screen his new film, “Next Door.”
