Toney relative says accusations are false

The sister of an accused killer who is on the run from law enforcement says charges against her brother, and other issues concerning her family, are absolutely false.

Audrey Toney, 28, of West Judson, attended a Friday arraignment hearing for her father LeeVaughn “Nut” Toney, 51, of Winona Avenue, in the Youngstown Municipal courtroom of Judge Elizabeth Kobly.

LeeVaughn Toney is charged with burglary after police say he broke into the Hilton Avenue home of another relative.

Audrey Toney and LeeVaughn Toney are the sister and father of Aubrey Toney, who is wanted in the murder of 74-year-old Thomas J. Repchic and wounding of his wife Jacqueline.

Prosecutors, during the arraignment hearing, told the court LeeVaughn Toney has a lengthy criminal history that includes aggravated burglary, aggravated riot, robbery, trafficking in drugs, multiple criminal tools charges and multiple charges for breaking and entering.

Judge Kobly set bond at $100,000 on the burglary charge. LeeVaughn Toney is due back in court Oct. 8.

Audrey Toney, following the arraignment, said the issues concerning her father and brother are a mistake. She said charges against her father are a ploy to get at her brother, who is also innocent.

“He is innocent and so is my father. That is all I have to say,” said Audrey Toney.

The 35-year-old Hilton Avenue relative who lives at the address LeeVaughn Toney is accused of burglarizing filed a police report Thursday — accusing Audrey Toney of menacing.

The report says Audrey Toney left a threatening message on a cell phone following the accusations against her father.

Audrey Toney said the accusations against her in the report are not true. She said she has spoken to the cousin who filed the report and has no idea what she is talking about.

Police launched a massive search for Aubrey Toney after the weekend murder of Repchic, who was gunned down around 1 p.m. Saturday as he and his wife were driving on Southern Boulevard near Philadelphia Avenue, according to reports.

Jacqueline Repchic was shot in her leg and taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Bond was set at $3 million in Youngstown Municipal Court for Kevin D. Agee Jr., 25, who faces charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault in the shooting. Agee is the alleged driver in the drive-by shooting.
