Man shoots up his TV over Palin dance
TweetMADISON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a 67-year-old rural Wisconsin man enraged over Bristol Palin's "Dancing with the Stars" routine blasted his television with a shotgun, leading to an overnight standoff with a SWAT team.
A Dane County Sheriff's detective says in court documents that Steven Cowan, of the town of Vermont, felt Palin was not a good dancer and was only on the show because of her famous mother.
They say Cowan loaded his shotgun and blasted the TV before turning the gun on his wife, who escaped.
Tactical officers surrounded the home and managed to talk Cowan out Tuesday morning.
Cowan was charged second-degree reckless endangerment and could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Authorities say he has bipolar disorder.

At least the guy is honest. Maybe the next time that he wants to watch a whore dance, he'll go to a strip club.
Glad no one was hurt
It's all but absolute certain that Mr. Cowan won't get 10 years for blasting his boob-tube and that goodness his wife escaped.
In a manner of review I don't watch those kinds of make believe shows because they bear no value of insight, worth nor entertainment.
Although it's spoken and written about enough to know that the young Palin, isn't any dancer. So it's clearly a transition for that 67 year aged gentleman to understand.
See he comes from an era that no fake shows like that were aired and only the best talent was fit for broadcast His era of even plain airwaves analog TV was light years more talent loaded better than Pay per view channels.
So for him to watch a chunky youngster with two left feet, no feel of tempo, no sense of rhythm or grace stumble about on stage. Solely because she's the unwed baby mama of a hated filled bespectacled buffoon is a heck of a transition for him
Irony is Elvis, and a not so scant number of other entertainers of all cultures. Has themselves also flat blasted their TV sets for frustration with programming
Where those of us that don't have the money or interest to blast the screen out of our TV's. Just apply the remote and don't play into the worst that TV programming can offer.
The title is even misleading. The allege dancing with the Stars and then trot out a chunky nobody that can't boogie.
But blares the twinkie inhaling clodhopper on the boob tube anyway. Alleging she's a " Star" while racking in cell phone fees. Of the same gullible goons that's bought momma Bozo's book and now racking up expense to disguise the digbat's daughter,.. ROTFFLMAO !!!
And they call the Tea Party members the wacko's!
No doubt that Bristol Palin was not the best dancer of the last four and she was only on the show because of her famous mother. She is definitely not an entertainer either but, she gets out on the stage every week and is improving. She has improved her style from mere school figures and has progressed to more of the required showcase style.
But, Bristol Palin is a far better dancer than Margaret Cho was! I would have thought the LGBT community would have voted heavily to keep this porkster's cloven hooves on the hardwood. So, Bristol Palin is getting votes from the Republicans and Tea Party. This is totally within the show's rules, but, next week the rules change. The viewing audience vote has less of an impact next week and Palin will come in third place.
That is too bad for Brandy as I thought she was the best dancer left.
Nunya, you don't watch this type of make believe show yet you seemed to be able to go into great detail on Palin's shortcomings as a dancer. Oh, that is right, you learned all this from what others had stated. It's okay, we won't laugh!!!
