Campbell bar owner beaten in head during robbery

Published: Wed, November 17, 2010 @ 12:10 a.m.

Staff report

CAMPBELL

A bar owner was beaten in the head during a robbery at the Devil’s Den on 12th Street, police report.

Officers responded to a call shortly after the robbery occurred at 2:30 a.m. Monday.

The owner, Todd Zamary, was bleeding from a head wound when police got there, the report said.

Zamary told police two assailants entered the bar with guns.

They ordered Zamary to get on the floor, the report says. A bar maid also told police she lay face down on the floor during the robbery.

Zamary told police he got on the floor under a pool table. One of the robbers pulled him out and hit him on the side of the head with his gun.

The robber then reached into Zamary’s pocket and stole a .380-caliber handgun from him.

Zamary also gave “a few hundred dollars” to the robber. The second suspect took $100 from the register, the report says.

Zamary told police the first suspect was a male, but he isn’t sure about the second suspect. He said he heard a female’s voice.

An ambulance was called, but Zamary refused treatment, the report said. Police stood by while he cleaned up the bar.

"The robber then reached into Zamary’s pocket and stole a .380-caliber handgun from him."

Training is involved before a gun is of much use in a robbery situation . Far too many times you will be the victim with your own gun being used .

I wished the headlines read "Two bar robbers dead from the owner's .380 caliber handgun" instead!!! Campbell is just totally out of it these days with crime everywhere.

Bet there is more to this story than reported...

Wonder how many times Campbell PD has been called to this bar for illegal activity?

actually, there isnt more to this story than reported. on the same night, a gas station in Campbell was robbed at gunpoint. also, last week another bar was robbed.
i wonder how many times you've defamed someone on these boards? it's called libel. By the way, Mr. Zamary has a hell of a lawyer.

And once again the useless criminals will be the victims. Maybe because they had a ingrown toenail when they were younger or were sent to bed without there supper and that emotional scar still remains to this day......
Useless wanna be gangstas that have no use to society.

Maybe if campbell police wold patrol the city things like this wouldnt happen.
The police are too busy patrolling YMHA. The rest of the city is left to fend for themselves. The Campbell police now only patrol the police chief's house and the YMHA housing. Like Campbell police like to say, "Welcome to the ghetto." I guess they think all of Campbell is the ghetto.
