ODOT begins resurfacing work in Canfield

Published: Fri, May 14, 2010 @ 2:49 p.m.

CANFIELD — Until further notice, Herbert Road and Fairground Boulevard will have various lane restrictions in either or both directions for resurfacing work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said the work is part of a $300,000 project to resurface Herbert from the western city limits to the Ohio Turnpike and Fairground from South Broad Street to the eastern city limits.

The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late July.

ODOT missed the mark here. Instead of resurfacing roads in Canfield, they should be resurfacing Canfield Road.

Shields Road, east from 46, was more deserving than Herbert Road.
