Published: Tue, May 4, 2010 @ 10:00 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

It appears Youngstown Councilwoman Carol Rimedio-Righetti will defeat incumbent David Ludt in the Democratic primary for Mahoning County commissioner.

With all absentee votes and all votes in Youngstown, Campbell and Poland Township (Ludt’s hometown) counted, Rimedio-Righetti has 56.7 percent of the vote.

Incumbent Mahoning County Auditor Michael Sciortino is leading his challenger for the Democratic nomination for auditor, Andrew D’Apolito, 62.1 percent to 37.9 percent.

The county half-percent sales tax is winning, with 69.8 percent of votes cast supporting the measure
