SHARON, Pa.
Police said Jeremy Dunlap, 23, of Dalton Avenue, Hermitage, Pa., was arrested shortly after a clerk at Sharon News Agency on East Silver Street was robbed, shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Dunlap approached the counter to buy cigarettes, but when the clerk opened the cash register drawer, he grabbed the cash and ran out of the store.
He dropped his cell phone as he fled and jumped into a car and drove away, police said.
The phone helped investigators identify him, and Southwest Regional Police picked him up as he drove on Idaho Street in Farrell a short time later, police said.
The money was recovered. Police said Dunlap had stuffed it up the leg of his pants.
He was in the Shenango Valley Regional Lockup in Farrell, pending arraignment today before District Justice Ronald Antos.
