J.J. Cafaro to remain in jail over the weekend

Published: Fri, March 19, 2010 @ 1:44 p.m.

AKRON — U.S. District Judge John R. Adams today denied a request by lawyers for J.J. Cafaro for an expedited detention hearing to have Cafaro released from jail today.

Cafaro was transferred from Summit County jail to the Corrections Corp. of America’s Northeast Ohio Correctional Center on Hubbard Road on Thursday afternoon.

Cafaro's detention hearing remains set at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Judge Adams detained Cafaro at his Wednesday arraignment, saying he had refused to provide the financial information necessary for his bond to be properly set.

Cafaro pleaded guilty Wednesday to making a false statement concerning a contribution to his daughter, Capri Cafaro’s, unsuccessful 2004 congressional campaign.

Capri Cafaro of Liberty, D-32nd, is a state senator and senate minority leader.

Well, it looks like Judge John R. Adams will not be receiving any loan monies from the Cafaros .

Who cares now?,..

The cats clearly out of the bag on this and now I'm outraged that they don't just let him out and get his room and board off the taxpayers dime.

See now this " detainment until Monday " is a absolute farce and this poor effort of cleanup after the $75.00 dollar savings contention. Is even worst than the lame excuse they gave for escorting him back to the area at all.

This is a kangaroo court case that's so fastidiously went from the sublime to the subliminal in warp speed.

Where now valley residents are expected to revel in picking up his tab for weekend lodging in a process that clearly has gratuity advanced immunity written all over it.

He was shipped back because him being incarcerated out of relative reach had some yet to be discovered high ups sweating harder than than a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

So now they've been provided a sigh of relief being able to facilitate his phone calls, visitors and contact amenities.

Thus now just stop the BS altogether and let him out right now. Which will save the taxpayers the $100 some odd dollars. That's now being forced to be picked up for this absolute joke on justice.

@Stan

Why not?,..

He could have remanded Cafaro stay his tail right where he'd placed him.

This guy didn't neither get squeezed nor is he being inconvenienced having gotten " sent home ".

No what happened here is there was an allowance of as much of a favor for kingpin as could be expected.

They knew Cafaro couldn't be worked back on the docket just because he allegedly changed his mind and conformed with a financial discovery.

Monday was the concrete date and in the midst of it Cafaro was given a ride back to a closer root of his roost,..

Or . . ..

Was there some attempt made to compromise U.S. District Judge John R. Adams that backfired ?

Moving JJ to Youngstown was just putting him closer to the FBI office that worked on his case . Back on home turf JJ will see the inner workings of the prison system . Right now I would say that he is feeling mighty uncomfortable .

I feel sorry for JJ,poor fellow he,s not used to this kind of harsh treatment.
He's always helping people out with loans and stuff.
After all he donates to judges and all kinds of poor folk, like Jimbo, that congressman who fight's for the little guy like a junkyard dog.You know the one who always had a train to run.

@Stan

That's not how it works Stan,..

I'll not go into internal details more than I already have in another discussion on this topic.

But a short jaunt to Akron, Cleveland or a surrounding facility by locally based agents not only isn't a problem.

But it's actually more conducive to the process of being discreet when conducting covert conversations with such an individual.

See his stronghold is here and the last thing you'd want to play into are privileging eyes and ears of those in a more local network. To be exposed to and or aware of any possibility of monitoring contact or content of conversation and or questioning.

Trust me I know what I'm talking about and I'm basing my take on sound sense. See the slang is keep the rock from the moss,.. they're only slippery when together.

This is a case where that's certainly not being applied as I see it. Which I've seen this kind of scenario before.

For which the quintessential duck rule of distinguishing quack, feathers and gait signifies things going afoul here,.. and it ain't from Buzzards luck either.

See the arm of Law has a long reach and locality has a lot to do with how firm the grasp can be applied to a protected specie when in it's own habitat.

See you don't hunt deer in water, you won't catch fish on land and don't bag birds at peak flight either.

Which are all known rules of the hunt and in the urban sense you don't corner a rat placing it in nor near his own hole nor where it's lined with cheese,.. ponder that.

See we're talking more than a church mouse that's of alley rat variety and some heavy cheddar here too,.. some with congressman, judges, commissioners having been on the hook.

Thus with that cheese being such an effective training aide. It's been known to make pack rats do an array of tricks,.. and this is a TADA moment !!!

So see in this case to go against all methodical logic it appears they've just disarmed a perfectly good trap intentionally complete with a $75.00 dollar savings story,.. what luck and a bargain huh?

Come on Stan, I'd figured you sharper than to think you'll strike it rich by forking over your cash in hand. In exchange for receiving some unlucky losers lottery tickets,.. this isn't a gamble they're pad rolling you here.

I find it odd that JJ is in jail for 10 maybe 12 grand and Dann and Jennings are still running around town after the thousands and thousands they stole. It's all BS, Dann and Jennings are nothing more than POS...

There is nothing to be gleaned from JJ in an Akron jail or from one in Youngstown . The Cafaro organization is not going to be conducting business from prison . Their leadership at the corporate office is full capable of making decisions .
