Boccieri switches to "yes" on health care

Published: Fri, March 19, 2010 @ 12:06 p.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic Rep. John Boccieri is switching his vote to "yes" on President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

The freshman Ohio lawmaker announced his decision at a Capitol Hill news conference on Friday. Boccieri opposed the House version of the bill last November.

Boccieri said he was standing up and doing what he believes in.

He is one of four Democrats to switch from no to yes in the past few days as Obama and Democratic leaders try to corral enough votes for the legislation. A vote is expected on Sunday.

Boccieri has been pressured on the issue. Labor unions and other groups backing health care reform ran ads in his district.

Great news! Glad he made this decision. Health care reform/legislation is decades past due. Boccieri seems like a nice enough guy when I've met him....I personally think he'll be politically active in the state of Ohio for years to come.

Way to lose your spine.

Anyone that thinks this is a vote for the people is a loon. Move to Canada.

Maybe we should all use Canadian health care, just like Sarah Palin did!

"Sarah Palin's family sought health care in Canada"
Sarah Palin has raised questions over her staunch criticism of state health care after the former Alaska governor admitted her own family used to "zoom" over the border to get treated in Canada's hospitals....

@personalresponsibility

You better believe it,..

See he played obstructionist to a point of weakening the bill and now he's voting for it because he's outraged those that initially voted for him and now knows what he did.

No matter what he does now anything short of him single handily capturing Bin Laden all by himself.

Boccieri is recognized as a shill that killed the public option and no way in hell will the electorate let him get away with it.

Those cases he knew about that he alleged changed his mind are the very people he sold out.

That's why he's a one and done and he tried to have it both ways and that's called double dealing.

He was flat out sent to stand for something and as a representative of the people and he didn't do it,.. He's useless !!!
