Preservation society celebrates

THE VINDICATOR Salem Preservation Society met on Feb. 4 at Salem Historical Society to celebrate the founding of the organization. To mark the occasion, the birthday cake displayed by, from left, Karen Carter, vice president, and Craig Brown, president, was shared by members during the social hour. The guest speaker was George W.S. Hayes, who spoke on the Salem Sustainable Comprehensive Plan. The club is continuing the sale of Carriage House Books for $22.
