BOARDMAN
Parents of Autistically Learning Students (P.A.L.S.)at the Rich Center for Autism has organized a fundraising variety show featuring regional talent and students from the center, food, cocktails, auctions, art and raffles.
The sixth annual variety show, “Autistically Speaking,” will be presented April 23 at Mr. Anthony’s. The event will feature dinner at 6:30 p.m. and auction viewing, followed by entertainment at 8. Tickets are $50.
The cast for the show includes Rodd Coonce and his troop of talented vocalists. As host of “Music at Madison,” a showcase for amateur musicians and vocalists, Coonce has been entertaining local crowds for the past seven years.
Also performing will be Steve Fazzini and Rich Center students from the St. Charles satellite program.
Since 2005 the show has become a major fundraiser, garnering about $20,000 each year for the center. The funds support programs that help children with autism to achieve their absolute best.

Dear psyker99,
Well, I guess we can say anything we want, while we stand behind a made up name. First of all, every employee of The Center has a degree. Second of all, well over fifty percent of those are working toward their masters. Third, how dare you comment on our children's diagnosis! I have three children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and as long as the school systems want to put my children in a resource room, lesson their grade level work, and actually exclude them...my sons will always attend The Rich Center. Our kids belong where their parents choose for them to go! You need to get your facts straight! As far a YSU, they give The Center NO money! You don't have a right to trash a program on the basis of false accusations! I can't even begin to tell you how inappropriate, off mark, and ignorant your post is! By the way, my name is Jen Donatella. My email is jendonatella@yahoo.com. I have a facebook page called, "I Support Autism Awareness." I am not affraid of who I am and what I stand for. I don't hide behind any thing when making a stand for my beliefs, my children, my profession, and The Rich Center for Autism.
Amazing! I've seen all kinds of hateful, vulgar, racist and sexist remarks left on these forums forever. But my criticism of the Rich Center and YSU was quickly squelched by the Vindicator which loves its own politically inspired editorials but cannot tolerate intelligent and informed criticism. It is open discussion that improves policies in a democracy. The reason I have to use a made-up name is to avoid bringing the wrath of the true believers down on my employer. Its a pity readers can't hear my side of the story since you got it removed so you could prove your point with a one-sided argument. You and your pals cannot tolerate criticism. If you and the Rich Center were legitimate, you would all welcome open discussion. As to the Rich Center, their "teachers" are not teachers although they have degrees. Usually people who want to teach have to meet rigorous and specific standards at great expense. The Rich Center "teachers" don't. My CPA has a graduate degree but I wouldn't want him teaching autristic children. I have my deleted facts straight from very up-close and knowledgeable observation and the admissions of their own staff. (Now they will stifle everybody - memo!.) I have yet to speak to a professional in mental health or education who is not profiting from the Rich Center that approves of their operation. We all know. YSU doesn't need to give the Rich Center any money, they are a cash cow. They don't call it the rich center for nothing. Multiply the children by $20,00 to see how much they haul in to the coffers. Of course you would have to subtract the generous wages they pay graduate students. As for your family, take the probability of any child being autistic and multiply it by itself twice to find the probability that you have three autistic children in one family. You should play the lottery. Wait, sounds like you already found a way to cash in big time. No wonder you defend it. P.S. Anybody wanting this information better hurry and cut and paste before the political censors find it.
