Fire destroys Wendell August Forge

GROVE CITY, PA.

A Saturday afternoon blaze destroyed Wendell August Forge, Madison Avenue.

A dispatcher at the Mercer County 911 Center said the call came in around 1:30 p.m. and it took until about 4:45 p.m. to get the fire under control.

At least 20 fire departments were involved with battling the blaze in some way. No one was injured and the fire remains under investigation.

I agree. I lived near Grove City for several years and visited the shop many times. Quite a few of the holiday and birthday gifts that I've given, as well as those that I've received, came from Wendell August. I really hope they can rebuild and continue the proud tradition of the company.
