Canfield swimmers earn All-American honors

The Canfield High boys 200 free relay set a school record and earned All-American honors with a time of 1:25.15 during Saturday’s state swimming and diving meet in Canton.

The quartet of Gavin Trebilcock, Steven Dalvin, Ryan O’Malley and Garrett Trebilcock finished second in the state in the event and added a fourth-place effort in the 400 free relay. Their time of 3:08.78 set another school record and was good venough for All-American honors.

Trebilcock also placed third in the 200 IM with a new school record time of 1:52.60. He took 16th in the 100 free after being clocked in 48.68.

The Canfield girls 200 free relay team finished 14th with a time of 1:41.23 and the 400 free relay placed 12th in a 3:39.56. Both teams included Johnna Dunkel, Hilary Allen, Kathryn Mason and Emily King.

King placed 20th in the 100 butterfly (59.52) and 22nd in the 100 free (54.07). Elizabeth Wilkens placed 11th in diving.
