Youngstown cops appeal firing in case involving paraplegic

Published: Thu, June 24, 2010 @ 4:41 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Two former city police officers fired for their alleged roles in the beating of a paralyzed man in February are fighting to get their jobs back.

Robert Joliff and Jay Fletcher were fired earlier this month after a police department investigation into the beating of Willie Daniel after a traffic accident. Daniel, 36, of High Street, is paralyzed from the waist down.

Police Chief Jimmy Hughes said today that Fletcher and Joliff have sent letters of appeal to the office of Mayor Jay Williams saying the decision to terminate was too Harsh. A hearing has been set for Tuesday.

I wish Robert Joliff and Jay Fletcher well on their appeal . Willie Daniel had no injuries to indicate any beating . The only injury that he had was to his pride for a drunken driving arrest . The cause of Willie's wreck was no hand controls and having to manipulate the foot pedals with a stick while driving drunk . The city should by him a van with hand controls so that he can drive drunk and cut his chances of wrecking .

It's a given,..

Where with no hostilities harbored. Fact is there's no place on a force of public servants for those that have no integrity or discipline.

There's no doubt a drunken and I'm of the strong belief that Daniels was driving and wrecked the vehicle. That he was found and cited for indisputable evidentary cause of DUI and under suspension.

However, to go beyond lawful conduct and surreptitiously beat him was out of order. To lie about it was detestable and for a to witness it and not intervene is unacceptable.

Where for not just those but any individual[s] already possessing records of this being no isolated case. Of like conduct that's so indefensibly unbecoming, authorized, public safety assuring nor sanctioned.

Is just too much and it's a deliberation without personal nor positional bias to not reinstate.

On the merit of valuing public safety, integrity of and within the force. To include no longer willfully dispatching known liabilities bearing such a display of being such social hazards.

As those of the unruly and criminal in acts and nature that they were employed and entrusted to apprehend and dissuade.

I'll wish all parties well but just like Daniel's deserves the book thrown at him for whats detected as lying in conjunction with unlawful conduct.

So to should the termination of those whom conducted themselves beneath the respect, integrity, honor and oath of the positions they didn't uphold.

To beat him and or anyone else of such a position is something a civilian on civilian does. It's not something that can be upheld as a member of law enforcement enacting themselves.

I'd even go as far as to say I'd conditionally entertain retention and rehabilitation had this been an isolated incident of one with an otherwise upstanding if not outstanding performance record.

However, such isn't the case and there's a path and pattern that shows and proves the terminated individuals had instances they should have learned better behavior from.

To conclude this isn't Warren Ohio where aside from a select two or three of true honor on the force.

Are oddities amidst that otherwise reign of lawless hell and criminality. Which is conducted as protocol in both uniformed and non uniformed variety.

Neither the area nor civil society can ill afford another unhinged and indefensible Warren Ohio type of abominable operation to serve as a beacon for discourse.

On the merit of valuing public safety let's get Willie Daniel a Van with hand controls with city funds so that he can drive drunk in style and not be humiliated by having to use a stick for the foot pedals . For good measure we can fill it with the Malt Liquor of his choice . The two policemen deserve two weeks off with no pay for having the audacity to arrest Willie .

Stan you're a senseless sorcerer,..

With valuing all man being initially created equal. Being one to bear an utmost respect for that being far more than a verbalized passage.

I'd believe you're on some powerfully potent and highly toxic mind altering inebriant. That's irreversibly voided any cognitive thought process bearing any cogent reasoning.

Which has vacated your cerebral lobe activity and decimated that region to the point of barren non existence.

Which is such a profound detection that makes it irrelevant to ask or ponder a questioning.

Of just what part of rational thought and due diligence deliberation don't you even remotely understand?

So now just what kind and color of crayons would you like the clinicians to afford you to express yourself in next,...Hmmm?

I thought it was only me, but Nunya's latest diatribe has been found to be the most befuddling piece of nonsense that the last 8 people I have shown it to have ever seen. Can anyone explain this nonsensical rant to the rest of us common folk?

All I would like to know is if he got beat up so bad why didn't he request medical attention. If anything, that would make his case a lot more believable. But he didn't. Makes you wonder why not.

Just tell nunya

Well Nunya . . ...

In your babble I see no compassion for Willie . One has to evaluate what would make him heal after this terrible episode . First let's evaluate what he has lost . His wheels would be the biggest item . They should be replaced with city funds and come with hand controls . Using a stick for the foot pedals is not suitable when you are sober let alone drunk . Replacing his wheels would encompass the basics of compassion .

So the clinicians give you crayons ? Aren't they toxic when you chew them up ? Non toxic fingerpaint should be issued to you . After viewing your prose I would venture to guess that you could paint some highly psychedelic pictures .

@Enough,..

What a name and false premise,..enough of nonsense.

However, since you have no perspective nor sense and opt to beg to get identified,..

First off you're not a person you imbecilic experiment. To which those you so falsely proclaimed to had summonsed to take note. At a locality where you're likely stealing access to the net from at the laboratory aren't real folk either,..

They're clearly of the variety of lab rats if they're accessible to you and in your pull toy presence.

See in your 31 scribblings { bearing no review } of their predetermined nonsense. You're a malcontent that couldn't muster the mentality beyond being a batmite,..

To include those " 8 " idgits to even remotely think you bear the sense of a human you hilarious ham headed lab rat,..

Now hows that for searing more holes in the Swiss. From a Puma having it's way with a sock puppet for having fun at your expense there mousy?,. now they're LAUGHING at you.

See if I was dumb as you I'd have slapped the doc on delivery. See your inferiority complex is so profound.

That what you previously thought was your ego just shriveled up in embarrassment you mere creation for humor only indignation.

On topic it's clear you're doing a life sentence for being so stupid. Now you're trying to present your inferiority complex as grounds for appeal?,.. go figure..
