Shots fired into Youngstown home

Published: Sat, June 19, 2010 @ 12:00 a.m.

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Numerous shots were fired at and into an East Florida Avenue house, but police say the people living there don’t want to cooperate with officers.

Police responded to a report of gunfire about 2:10 a.m. Friday at a house on the 900 block of East Florida Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found 16 spent shell casings in front of the home with several bullet holes in the front window and siding, according to a police report.

Police said they were allowed inside and found 10 bullet holes in the house’s foyer, living room and a bedroom.

Also, police said they found an unloaded gun in the house. No one inside the house said they had seen the gun, police said.

When officers went outside to further investigate, those living inside the house locked them out, police said.

Officers asked to be let back in to get the names of the victims and statements from them, police said. Officers were told to leave and get a warrant, police said.

Preservation of the way of life in The Hood take priority over life itself . The police are the enemy and their friends who shot up the house will be protected from them .

Stan, I read the Vindy.com everyday and every time there is some violence in ytown you have a negative comment. You have over 4000 comments listed to date. You must lead a mighty dull life. Maybe you should get a job or contribute to the neighborhood and then you won't have time to be so NEGATIVE!!!!

Very distinct,..

" HOUSE FIRED UPON, GUN FOUND INSIDE - UNLOADED AND EVERYBODY CLAIMS THEY HAVE NO IDEA IT WAS THERE OR WHO HAD IT ",.. the home owner should have been apprehended to make them talk.

See where the physical address is irrelevant in regards to detecting whats gone on there. You can't sensibly even try to give a damn about anyone that clearly doesn't care about themselves.

Which their sudden change of demeanor and clam up conduct was clearly no one wanting to take ownership of the no doubt stolen gun for starters,.. ballistics has to be ran on it to trace possible associated crimes.

Their change of demeanor possibly / likely even included a recollection of possessing stolen goods somewhere throughout the place and possibly drugs and outstanding warrants they feared the patrolmen would find and or track back on ID call / check,.. if nobody was taken in that was terrible police work.

Where those numerous shots fired into the dwelling aside. Because the shooters had already left the scene and apparently nobody's willing to cooperate.

But for public safety law enforcement should immediately place the dwelling on the hot watch surveillance list. There's no telling what they'll snare and you can bet whatever it is and who they are it's conclusively criminal.

Because it's now without question those that would call themselves either existing or frequenting a dwelling sheltering such a character of individuals[s]. Would play host and or hideout for troublesome liabilities and nuisances and or menaces to society.

Where they may or may not know who fired the salvos that rattled them enough to call the police. But by displayed conduct and occurrence those are guilt ridden criminals in that dwelling. Whom by demanding a warrant aren't without fault and are clearly posturing as casualties awaiting their morgue checkout or penitentiary check in dates.

The only thing one can sensibly hope is they don't get any innocent person gunned down getting mixed up in it via crossfire. The sad thing is before their corpse[s] are tagged and identified. With their chance to be, do, think and live better than they do. They opt for thinking it's a game or cool to be at odds with others that will take up arms against them and go about their existences firing on one another.

They're beneath savages because savages normally have good reason to to act out in the wild.

However, you can bet it's over something idiotic that they did to someone and with their living on Florida in inner city Youngstown. The crime they commit and the chances they took and take bears no comparison to valuing life if they had a clue as to knowing what it's really all about.

What bothers me the most about these comments is the fact that it is being called the "hood" when all reality, this street has some well-manicured, nice homes on it. Not to mention, the people living in these well-manicured homes aren't people of the "hood." For example, my sister and her 3 children live in a cute little house--located 3 houses down from the home shot at. Here is my problem--there are scumbags and losers in everyone of our communities--Austintown, Boardman, Poland. Generalzing this this is a hood full of african american gansters is irrationale.

Furthermore, we need to focus on the families that still live in the city, pay their taxes, and want to feel SAFE!! Is that too much to ask?
