YOUNGSTOWN — Harrison Field was the center stage of the Smoky Hollow neighborhood for decades, so it is perhaps only appropriate the development of Harrison Commons on that same site will be the first project in Smoky Hollow’s rebirth.
Ground was broken on the project today on North Walnut Street just across from the Youngstown State University parking deck.
The park will feature a brick-paved plaza, an arbor for events such as plays and concerts, and a large historic map of Smoky Hollow. A $396,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will pay for the project, which will be completed in October.

Who will pay to maintain it? Dah the city and the county are so broke they can't maintain what they have now.
Drive past Bort Field Park and you will see that the grass is taller then three feet high on Bella Vista. This is City property, the same City that should and does hand out citations for people that dont take care of thier property. Can anyone say HYPOCRITE
My guess is.... YSU at some point
Can't you people be happy about anything? You moan and complain about something as simple as a park. That is truly sad.
"Ohio Department of Natural Resources will pay for the project....."
Did they do a geological survey? How much natural gas underlies it?
